Quick Start¶
Get Configly set up and running in just a few minutes.
What You'll Do¶
- Create your Configly account
- Connect your Zendesk instance
- Run your first configuration sync
- Explore your Zendesk setup
Beta access
Configly is currently in beta. Access is protected by HTTP basic authentication. Enter the beta credentials when prompted by your browser.
Step 1: Create Your Account¶
Visit go.configly.app and create an account. You can sign up with:
- Email and password
- Google — click "Continue with Google"
- Microsoft — click "Continue with Microsoft"
If you already have an account, sign in. Accounts are automatically linked if you use the same email address across different sign-in methods.
Step 2: Connect Zendesk¶
After signing in, you'll see the Welcome to Configly dialog with a quick overview of how the app works. Click "Get Started" to begin, or "I'll explore first" to dismiss it.
If you have no connections yet, you'll see an empty state prompting you to add your first Zendesk connection. Click "Add Zendesk Connection".
You'll need:
- Your Zendesk subdomain (e.g.,
yourcompanyfromyourcompany.zendesk.com) - A descriptive name for this connection (e.g., "Production" or "Client Name")
Choose OAuth authentication (recommended) — it's the easiest and most secure way to connect.
Step 3: Run Your First Sync¶
Once connected, Configly guides you through your first sync with a progress view:
- Click "Sync Now"
- Watch the progress as each configuration type is retrieved
- See real-time counts as triggers, automations, macros, and more are synced
- When complete, you'll see a celebration screen showing everything that was found
Configly retrieves up to 12 configuration types:
- Triggers, automations, macros, and views
- Ticket fields, user fields, and organization fields
- SLA policies, groups, brands, schedules, and ticket forms
This usually takes 5–30 seconds depending on how many objects you have.
Step 4: Explore Your Configuration¶
After your first sync, you'll see the dashboard showing:
- Configuration type cards — each card shows the total count and active/inactive breakdown
- Last sync time — displayed with relative time (e.g., "5 minutes ago")
- Quick actions — Sync Now, Compare Versions, and Search
Click any configuration type card to browse, search, and analyse your Zendesk setup.

Press Cmd+K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) from anywhere to search across all configuration types.
