Trigger Categories¶
What Are Trigger Categories?¶
Trigger categories are organisational groupings for your triggers in Zendesk. They help you keep large trigger lists manageable by grouping related triggers together (e.g., "Routing", "Notifications", "Escalation").
What Configly Captures¶
For each trigger category, Configly stores:
- Category name
- Position -- the display order of the category
- Created and updated timestamps

Viewing Trigger Categories¶
Navigate to Trigger Categories under Objects & Rules in your connection sidebar. Each category shows the triggers it contains as dependencies.
Common Dependencies¶
Trigger categories have a parent relationship with triggers:
- Triggers -- each trigger belongs to a category (tracked via the category ID on the trigger)
Use dependency mapping to see which triggers belong to each category. Orphaned categories (with no triggers) are flagged by the health check.
