Workspaces¶
What Are Workspaces?¶
Contextual workspaces in Zendesk automatically adjust the agent interface based on ticket conditions. When an agent opens a ticket that matches a workspace's conditions, the interface reconfigures to show relevant apps, macros, and ticket fields for that context.
What Configly Captures¶
For each workspace, Configly stores:
- Workspace name and description
- Conditions -- the ticket conditions that activate this workspace
- Active status -- whether the workspace is currently enabled
- Macro and app configuration -- which tools are surfaced when the workspace activates
- Created and updated timestamps

Viewing Workspaces¶
Navigate to Workspaces under Objects & Rules in your connection sidebar. You can browse all workspaces, see their activation conditions, and check which are currently active.
Tips for Admins¶
- Review workspace conditions regularly to ensure they don't overlap in confusing ways
- Use snapshot comparison to track when workspace configurations change
- Check dependencies to understand which fields and apps each workspace references
Related Objects¶
- Triggers -- rules that may interact with workspace conditions
- Macros -- agent actions surfaced by workspaces
- Custom Fields -- fields shown or hidden by workspace context
